Kara Lam
Principal UX & Product Designer
For nearly a decade, I’ve been designing digital experiences that make life easier, more efficient, and more enjoyable. Most recently at Insight, I partnered with cross-functional teams and executives across fintech, healthcare, SaaS, and more.
I thrive on solving complex design challenges, advocating for users, and driving innovation at every stage of the product lifecycle. Beyond execution, I’m passionate about mentoring teammates and fostering a strong design culture.
When I’m not designing, you can find me performing contemporary dance with Cultivate Dance Project, hanging out with my rescue pup Luna, or immersing myself in the energy of live music and festivals.
I truly believe the best design inspiration comes from fully experiencing the joys of life — through movement, music, and meaningful connections.

Led discovery for a state unemployment insurance system modernization, conducting 10+ user group interviews & producing 40+ wireframes that shaped feature prioritization, roadmap planning, & design direction
Designed a warehouse execution portal supporting 8+ operational roles, establishing a scalable design system to guide long-term product development
Directed UX strategy across 5+ gaming payment products, improving transactional flows & patron-facing experiences through client education, usability testing, stakeholder workshops, & iterative design
